Las Vegas Strip Kid-Friendly Attractions

The scenery on the Las Vegas Strip is undoubtedly what comes to most people's minds when they think of Vegas. Majestic hotels, flashing neon signs, the iconic Fountains of Bellagio, the classic Eiffel Tower, St. Mark's Square at The Venetian… all these classic Vegas landmarks are right here on the Strip. Many tourists never even leave the Strip during their entire stay! Surprisingly, amidst the bustling casinos, there are actually plenty of wonderful attractions tailored for kids too!

STRAT Skypod

◆ Hours: Daily 10am - 1am

◆ Tickets: Official Website | Discount on Klook

Located at the northernmost end of the Strip, the STRAT Skypod observation deck lets you ascend 1,149 feet to take in the dazzling, glittering night view of the Las Vegas Strip. If you visit during the day, you'll be treated to endless views of the surrounding desert landscape. I originally thought this kind of "beautiful but serene" spot might be super boring for a toddler. To my surprise, our two-year-old son was completely captivated by both the desert scenery and the towering skyscrapers! You can even spot Vegas's newest landmark—The Sphere, the largest spherical structure in the world! Compared to the hustle and bustle down on the Strip, sitting on a comfy sofa at the Skypod, enjoying snacks and drinks while taking in the unbeatable view, makes it a truly relaxing spot where moms can actually unwind and take a breather. If you have older thrill-seekers, there are also some heart-pounding amusement rides up on the 109th floor!

The LINQ Promenade

◆ Location: Between the Flamingo and The LINQ Hotel

◆ Hours: 24 hours (Free entry)

The LINQ Promenade is located right in the prime center of the Las Vegas Strip. The entire pedestrian walkway is lined with palm trees, charming boutiques, diverse dining options, and features a massive Ferris wheel 🎡 towering in the background. The atmosphere here is incredibly laid-back, almost as if you've instantly teleported to a sunny American coastal town! Thanks to its prime location, it boasts a cute little plaza with a fountain and plenty of relatively affordable food choices. The best part? It's a completely car-free zone, making it exceptionally safe and perfect for strolling with children. It's a fantastic spot to drop by, escape the busy Strip for a moment, grab a bite, and let everyone catch their breath!

High Roller Observation Wheel

◆ Hours: Daily 12pm - 12am

◆ Tickets: Official Website | Compare on Klook | Kids 0-3 ride free | Included in Go City Pass

Situated at the end of The LINQ Promenade, the High Roller—North America's largest observation wheel—is undoubtedly one of Cherry's top two must-visit attractions in Las Vegas! Not only can you admire the bustling Strip from 550 feet in the air, but you also get an ultra-close-up view of the world's largest spherical building, The Sphere. The images displayed across the massive surface by its 1.2 million LED panels provide a truly unprecedented visual feast! Parents with toddlers, take note: you can roll your stroller right into the cabin, take a super quiet special access lane, and kids under three ride completely free. It's an absolute win!

Flamingo Wildlife Habitat

◆ Location: Inside the Flamingo Hotel

◆ Hours: Daily 7am - 8pm (Free entry)

If you need a break from the blinding neon lights and heavy traffic on the Strip, take a stroll over to the Flamingo Wildlife Habitat located at the Flamingo Hotel. Not only will you find a flock of vibrant pink flamingos living their best life, but the habitat is also home to hundreds of other birds, fish, and turtles, making it feel like a miniature zoo. Surrounded by lush greenery and tranquil ponds, this habitat is a wonderful spot for kids to walk around, burn off some energy, and get some fresh air. You can even see the High Roller Ferris wheel from here. Flamingos, casinos, and a giant wheel in one frame—it's such a uniquely Vegas view! Since it's right next to the High Roller and the hotel entrance connects to The LINQ Promenade, you can easily bundle all these attractions into one fun afternoon!

The Atlantis Show & Aquarium

◆ Location: Inside The Forum Shops at Caesars

◆ Hours: Thursday to Monday, every hour on the hour from 12pm - 8pm | Closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays

When it comes to the best free shows on the Strip, The Atlantis Show at The Forum Shops at Caesars definitely ranks near the top! It tells a mythological tale set in a beautiful Roman-style indoor plaza, featuring animatronic statues and real fire effects that are incredibly captivating. Right in the same plaza is a 50,000-gallon aquarium. Though not massive, it’s beautifully themed with ancient ruins, housing a great variety of fish, including cute little sharks and stingrays! While it can't compete with a full-scale paid aquarium, it's completely free and guaranteed to make the little ones happy! Just remember, the show doesn't run on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, so plan your itinerary accordingly. On other days, it runs every hour on the hour from noon to 8 PM. For the latest schedule, always check the official website.

Fountains of Bellagio

Image from official website

◆ Location: Front of Bellagio Hotel | Map Link

◆ Monday - Friday: 3pm - 6:30pm (every 30 mins) | 7pm - 12am (every 15 mins)

◆ Saturday, Sunday & Holidays: 12pm - 6:30pm (every 30 mins) | 7pm - 12am (every 15 mins)

The Fountains of Bellagio might just be the most world-renowned free attraction in Las Vegas. With over 1,200 water jets shooting up to 24 stories high, set against the elegant backdrop of the Bellagio or the Eiffel Tower at Paris Las Vegas, it's absolutely breathtaking! The thunderous sound of the water crashing down can be heard from far away despite the bustling Strip noise. Given how frequently the shows run, it's honestly hard to miss while exploring the Strip! For the latest showtimes, check their official website.

Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens

Image from official website - 2025 Spring Theme

◆ Location: Next to the Bellagio Hotel Lobby | Map Link

◆ 2025 Exhibition Dates: Spring (Mar 8 - May 17) | Summer (May 24 - Aug 23) | Autumn (Aug 30 - Nov 8) | Holiday (Nov 15 - Jan 3) Check the official website for the latest updates.

Located right inside the Bellagio Hotel, the Bellagio Conservatory and Botanical Gardens is another incredibly famous free attraction. The opulent displays change completely depending on the season or holiday. In 2024, for example, there were five distinct themes: Lunar New Year, Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Holiday. Although entry is free, the floral arrangements are remarkably elaborate. Under the massive glass dome, natural light pours in during the day, while magical lighting gives it an entirely different glow at night! The high ceilings make it a very comfortable space to walk through, making it a perfect, visually stunning spot for both adults and kids to explore and take tons of photos.

The photo above is from our visit during the Holiday theme. Aside from a breathtakingly gorgeous Christmas tree, there was even a moving Coca-Cola polar bear train—it was ridiculously cute! One quick tip: they close for about a week between seasons to change out the displays, so make sure you check the exhibition dates before you book your flights and hotels to avoid missing out!

Guinness World Record Chocolate Fountain

◆ Location: Bellagio Patisserie inside Bellagio Hotel | Map Link

◆ Hours: Daily 6am - 10pm

Also located inside the Bellagio is the Bellagio Patisserie. Not only do they serve exquisite handmade pastries, but they also house the world's largest chocolate fountain! Standing at 27 feet tall, seeing the silky, continuous cascade of melted chocolate flowing like a waterfall is just incredibly therapeutic. If you're walking by, you have to take a peek—and you'll get to check a Guinness World Record off your list!

Rainforest Cafe

◆ Location: 3717 S Las Vegas Blvd | Map Link

◆ Hours: Mon-Thu 11am-10pm | Fri 11am-11pm | Sat 10am-11pm | Sun 10am-10pm | Check the official website for current hours.

This is an immersive rainforest-themed restaurant where animatronic animals are hiding in every corner. Not only is the decor incredibly immersive, but you are also surrounded by ambient jungle sounds. Dining here really makes you feel like you are eating right in the middle of a tropical rainforest. Before visiting, I read some mixed reviews online about the food. Personally, Cherry thinks the food is just average—not bad, but nothing mind-blowing. The real selling point is the atmosphere. However, it's worth noting that if your child is terrified of thunderstorms, I wouldn't highly recommend this place. The restaurant simulates a realistic thunderstorm with lightning and thunder every 15 to 20 minutes, and our son was terrified! He demanded to be held every time the "thunder" struck 😅. But if you have older kids or ones who aren't bothered by loud noises, it's definitely a fun themed experience to try out if you are in the area.

M&M's World

◆ Location: 3785 S Las Vegas Blvd | Map Link

◆ Hours: Daily 9am - 12am

Even if you aren't a die-hard M&M's fan, you will still have a blast at the massive M&M's World flagship store. Spanning four floors, it is packed to the brim with colorful M&M's merchandise, and you can even customize your very own printed M&M's! Better yet, there are giant M&M's character statues scattered throughout for photo ops—so cute! They even have an authentic M&M's race car on display. The vibrant, colorful interior design is not only appealing to kids but totally eye-catching for adults too.

Coca-Cola Store

◆ Location: 3785 S Las Vegas Blvd | Map Link

◆ Hours: Daily 10am - 12am

Compared to the brightly colored M&M's World next door with its giant character statues, the Coca-Cola Store relies mostly on its classic red and white palette, making it a bit less "photogenic" in a traditional sense. However, the variety of Coca-Cola merchandise here is staggering, making it incredibly fun to browse! Beyond toys that grab kids' attention, there's a huge selection of items that adults love—from tech accessories and homeware to lip balms. It truly appeals to all ages, and you don't even need to be a soda drinker to enjoy looking around! If you're feeling adventurous, head up to the second floor for the "Around the World Tray," where you can sample 16 unique soda flavors from different countries. It's a cool way to taste global beverages without leaving the Strip!

Hershey's Chocolate World

◆ Location: Inside New York-New York Hotel | Map Link

◆ Hours: Mon-Thu 9am-12am | Fri-Sun 9am-1am

Located inside the New York-New York Hotel, Hershey's Chocolate World greets you right at the entrance with a brilliantly themed icon: a Statue of Liberty sculpted from 800 pounds of Hershey's Milk Chocolate! And instead of the Constitution, Lady Liberty is holding a giant Hershey bar! The two-story flagship store is overflowing with chocolate goodies, and the air itself smells divinely like chocolate. It's an absolute must-visit for young chocolate lovers and serious sweet tooths alike.

Shark Reef Aquarium

◆ Location: Mandalay Bay Hotel | Map Link

◆ Hours: Daily 10am - 8pm

◆ Tickets: Official Website | Compare on KKDay | Compare on Klook | Included in Go City Pass

If you want to feel a refreshing ocean breeze right in the middle of the scorching Las Vegas desert, head to the Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay on the south end of the Strip, home to over 2,000 marine animals. Themed around an ancient temple slowly sinking into the ocean, the atmosphere is quite immersive, especially the final shipwreck exhibit, which exudes a deeply mysterious underwater vibe! To be honest, the aquarium isn't huge, and apart from a few incredibly unique shark species, the overall exhibits are fairly standard. Cherry highly recommends this spot mostly for families with kids! They have a touch pool where kids can pet little stingrays—our little one had an absolute blast! The mysterious ambiance of the final shipwreck area is so mesmerizing you could sit and watch the sharks glide by for ages without getting bored. A very highly recommended family attraction!

★ Las Vegas Strip Attractions for Older Kids

While some of the attractions above are great for toddlers, Vegas also has spots better suited for slightly older kids.

The Sphere

◆ Age Requirement: Varies by show

◆ Location: 255 Sands Ave, Las Vegas

◆ Tickets: Official Website

Officially opened on September 29, 2023, The Sphere, located just east of The Venetian, is a fully immersive spherical entertainment venue. It is currently the largest spherical building on the planet! Costing $2.3 billion to construct, it's the most expensive entertainment venue ever built in Vegas and the absolute hottest attraction right now. The 18,600-seat arena offers ticketed entry for "The Sphere Experience," where you can watch breathtaking immersive films inside this massive dome. Equipped with a staggering 167,000 speakers, it delivers an unprecedented audio-visual journey. Before the show, you can interact with futuristic animatronic robots and even record a 360-degree avatar video of yourself! When talking about the coolest attractions in Vegas, The Sphere is in a league of its own. Age limits vary depending on the specific film being shown, but if your kids meet the age requirement, it's an incredible place to expand their horizons!

The Adventuredome at Circus Circus

◆ Best for: Kids 5-6 years and older

◆ Location: Circus Circus Hotel

◆ Tickets: Official Website

Located on the northern end of the Strip, Circus Circus is a bit further away from the other main attractions. It's often said that the hotel and casino feel a bit dated and the smoke smell is strong, so it might not be the top choice for family lodging. However, bringing the kids over just to play is a great idea! They have free circus acts, juggling, and magic shows. Best of all, they house The Adventuredome, a massive indoor amusement park featuring around 20 different rides, including roller coasters, a pirate ship, and bumper cars. If your kids are tall enough for most rides, grabbing an all-day ride pass is the way to go! To really get the most out of the rides, this spot is definitely best suited for kids around five or six and up.

The Big Apple Coaster at New York-New York

◆ Location: New York-New York Hotel

◆ Tickets: Official Website | Compare on Klook

If your family loves thrilling rides, the Big Apple Coaster, located on the second floor of New York-New York, is the top choice. During the ride, you'll twist and turn through a replica of the Manhattan skyline, get an up-close look at the Statue of Liberty, and catch glimpses of the Las Vegas Strip. Enjoying the view while screaming your lungs out is a unique Vegas experience! In addition to the coaster, New York-New York has a great Arcade, making it a perfect hangout spot for older kids and teenagers.

★ Downtown Las Vegas Kid-Friendly Attractions

Downtown Las Vegas has a completely different vibe compared to the glitzy modern Strip. If you want to experience some of the early history and vintage charm of Vegas, dedicating a day or two to explore Downtown is highly recommended. Among the Downtown attractions, there are two fantastic ones tailored for kids!

Praying Mantis at Downtown Container Park

◆ Location: 707 E Fremont St, Las Vegas, NV 89101 | Map Link

◆ Mantis Fire Schedule: Sun, Wed, Thu (Sundown - 10pm) | Fri, Sat (Sundown - 1am) | Check official website for updates.

◆ Rules: 21+ only after 9 PM

Opened in 2013 in Downtown Las Vegas, the Container Park is an open-air shopping and dining complex built entirely out of repurposed shipping containers. It houses unique restaurants, boutique shops, and an incredible giant treehouse playground in the center where kids can climb and explore safely. At the entrance stands a massive mechanical praying mantis that shoots real flames into the night sky! While not huge, the Container Park has a very indie, artsy aesthetic. It feels like a bohemian creative village right in the middle of Vegas, making it an excellent spot for the whole family to enjoy! It's also just a short walk from Downtown's most famous attraction—the Fremont Street Experience with its massive LED canopy. However, Cherry feels the Fremont area can get a bit rowdy, so if you have kids, it's best to just walk through quickly for photos, but you should absolutely spend your time hanging out at the Container Park!

Discovery Children's Museum

◆ Location: 360 Promenade Pl, Las Vegas | Map Link

◆ Official Website: https://www.discoverykidslv.org/

◆ Hours: Tue-Sat 10am-5pm | Sun 12pm-5pm

Located in Downtown Las Vegas, the Discovery Children's Museum is packed with spectacular play areas and interactive exhibits that allow kids to learn while having the time of their lives. It's an incredibly robust "edutainment" hub! The interactive designs are so clever that even adults will find them fascinating—like the giant ball machine in the water play zone and the massive pinball setup on the third floor! Not to mention the adorable career-simulation areas and numerous educational mini-games. It will easily keep kids entertained for an entire day! If you're visiting Downtown Vegas with kids aged 2 to 10, you must add this hidden gem to your itinerary!

★ Off-Strip Kid-Friendly Attractions

There are also a few excellent attractions situated off the Strip, highly recommended for those renting a car. Of course, if you don't have a car, you can easily take an Uber or Lyft. In fact, for places like AREA15, where the parking lot is small and fills up fast during peak hours, taking a rideshare is strongly advised!

Mermaid Show at Silverton Casino

Image from official website

◆ Location: 3333 Blue Diamond Rd, Las Vegas | Map Link

◆ Stingray Feeding Show: Daily 1:30pm | 4:30pm

◆ Live Mermaid Show: Mon-Wed 4pm-8pm | Thu-Sat 12pm-8pm | Sun 10:30am-6:30pm

About a 10-15 minute drive from the Strip is the Silverton Casino, which boasts what many consider the best free aquarium in Vegas—The Aquarium at Silverton Casino. Every day, they host live mermaid shows alongside stingray feedings, making it incredibly family-friendly. During the operating hours, apart from the feeding times, there's a live mermaid swimming in the tank every half hour, interacting with the fish and the audience outside the glass. It's a very magical experience for little ones! For the latest showtimes, always check their official website.

AREA15 Entertainment Complex

Image from internet

◆ Location: 3215 S Rancho Dr, Las Vegas | Map Link

◆ Hours: Mon-Thu 12pm-12am | Fri 12pm-1am | Sat 10am-1am | Sun 10am-12am

◆ Tickets: Official Website

Opened in September 2020, AREA15 is a massive immersive entertainment district located just off the Strip. It's so packed with activities that you could easily spend half a day or more here. It's filled with photogenic art installations, food options, and a myriad of ticketed experiences. The interior design leans towards a neon, club-like aesthetic that feels quintessentially Vegas. You can participate in fun activities like VR experiences, indoor zip-lining, and more. Because many activities cater to older kids and adults, parents should browse the options beforehand to see what fits their children's ages. General admission to AREA15 is free and open to all ages most of the time, except on Friday and Saturday nights after 9 PM, when it becomes 18+ and requires a cover charge ($10 online, $15 at the door). Even though entry is free during the day, you must secure a free entry pass online in advance (one pass per family). Note: If you have pre-purchased tickets for any specific experience inside AREA15, you don't need the general entry pass.

★ Kid-Friendly Shows

One of the absolute must-dos in Las Vegas is watching a spectacular show! However, many shows in Vegas have strict age restrictions. Cherry has compiled a list of fantastic family-friendly shows, categorized for ages 5+, ages 3+, and those with no age limit, so you can pick what best suits your family! A great tip: Top-tier shows like Cirque du Soleil's "O" and "KÀ", as well as the Tournament of Kings at Excalibur, can all be booked using the Las Vegas Go City Pass. If you plan to catch these performances, definitely look into the Pass—it can save you a bundle!

Cirque du Soleil "O" Show

◆ Age Requirement: 5 years and older

◆ Location: Bellagio Hotel

◆ Tickets: Official Website | Compare on Klook | Included in Go City Pass

If you can only see one show in Las Vegas, you absolutely cannot miss Cirque du Soleil's "O"! Themed around water and infinity, this mesmerizing performance blends aquatics, fire, acrobatics, and pantomime. The fact that the entire stage transforms into a massive pool of water is mind-blowing! The only downside is that children must be at least 5 years old to attend. Families with younger toddlers will unfortunately have to save this for a future trip. However, Cirque du Soleil has six different resident shows in Vegas. If your child is 3 or older, you can check out "KÀ". For kids under 3, your options include the Tournament of Kings at Excalibur and Cirque's "Mystère".

Cirque du Soleil "KÀ" Show

◆ Age Requirement: 3 years and older

◆ Location: MGM Grand

◆ Tickets: Official Website | Compare on Klook | Included in Go City Pass

If your child is over 3 but under 5 and can't watch "O", you still have the spectacular "KÀ" by Cirque du Soleil! Renowned for its incredible stage engineering, this show combines martial arts, acrobatics, and puppetry. The performers run all over the place, fly through the air, and pull off incredible stunts—there's even action happening vertically! With stunning pyrotechnics and visual projections, this is another highly recommended, must-see performance.

Cirque du Soleil "Mystère"

◆ Age Requirement: All ages | Kids under 1 sitting on lap are free | Ages 1+ require a ticket

◆ Location: Treasure Island

◆ Tickets: Official Website | Compare on KKday

"Mystère" is Cirque du Soleil's only Vegas show with absolutely zero age restrictions, and infants under 1 sitting on a lap get in free! However, parents should be aware that the loud noises and dark moments during the performance might startle some younger kids. The theater has a classic circus tent vibe, blending unique music, brilliant stage lighting, jaw-dropping acrobatics, and hilarious audience interaction! It's a fantastic pick for families with babies and toddlers.

Tournament of Kings

◆ Age Requirement: All ages | Kids under 3 sitting on lap are free

◆ Location: Excalibur Hotel & Casino

◆ Tickets: Official Website | Compare on Klook (Dinner included) | Included in Go City Pass

Here's a slightly less mainstream but incredibly fun show with no age limits: the "Tournament of Kings" dinner show hosted at the medieval-themed Excalibur Hotel! It's an immersive experience where you eat your hearty medieval feast with your bare hands while watching knights in shining armor jousting on majestic horses—yes, real horses! Cherry is a city girl at heart, so I was completely mesmerized 🤣! You even get to cheer loudly for the knight representing your seating section's "kingdom." The cast interacts constantly with the audience, making the atmosphere extremely hype and joyful. It's perfectly suited for kids of all ages to join in the fun! By the end of the show, everyone is well-fed and entertained, making it the perfect time to head back to the room for bedtime 🤣. It is hands-down one of the most family-friendly shows in Vegas, highly recommended!

★ Kid-Friendly Pools

Image from internet

If you want to cool down from the blazing Vegas heat, many of the hotel pools are absolutely spectacular! Here are two highly recommended family-friendly pools (just remember that some pools close during the winter months).

The Tank Pool (Golden Nugget)

Located in Downtown Las Vegas, the pool at the Golden Nugget features a massive shark aquarium right in the center! It includes a clear, enclosed water slide that passes straight through the tank, giving you an up-close view of the sharks as you slide down. Non-guests can buy day passes to enter. It's generally much cheaper on weekdays, while weekend prices can double. For current rates, check their official website.

Artificial Beach & Lazy River at Mandalay Bay

The pool at Mandalay Bay, located on the far south end of the Strip, is world-famous. Why? Because not only does it have a massive wave pool and an artificial beach made with 2,700 tons of real sand, but it also features a winding lazy river! You'll honestly feel like you're at a dedicated water park! For more details, refer to their official website.

★ Important Tips

Besides the family attractions highlighted above, Vegas has so much more to see and do. Almost every major hotel features breathtaking lobbies and free shows or street acts. However, as an internationally famous "Sin City", there are a few things to keep in mind when bringing your kids along.

Accommodation

It's very hard to completely escape the smell of smoke in most hotels that house casinos. During our stay at the Bellagio, we still noticed a faint but distinct smoke smell as soon as we entered our room. If you are extremely sensitive to this, you might want to look into non-gaming hotels off the Strip, though you'll spend more time commuting. Also, it seems many hotels on the Strip don't provide electric kettles in the rooms, so if you need boiling water for baby formula, it's best to bring a travel kettle. Tap water in Vegas isn't really for drinking, but thankfully, the convenience stores along the Strip sell bottled water by the case!

Transportation

When walking along the Strip, even in broad daylight, you'll occasionally catch whiffs of cigarette and marijuana smoke. Because it's outdoors, Cherry usually just quickened her pace to walk past it. The smell is rarely an issue inside restaurants, shops, or family attractions, but if this is a dealbreaker for you, Vegas might require a second thought. As for public transport, the Deuce Double-Decker Bus is the most convenient and affordable way to travel up and down the Strip, but it gets incredibly crowded. If you plan to ride the Deuce, it is absolutely essential to bring a lightweight, easily foldable stroller! Additionally, crossing the Strip often requires using pedestrian bridges. During our trip, we ran into broken elevators far too many times (maybe we just had bad luck 🤣). When we had no choice, I had to carry the stroller in one hand while holding our son's hand as we walked up the stairs. In those moments, I was so incredibly thankful he knew how to walk! Bottom line: A lightweight, compact travel stroller is your best friend in Vegas!

After spending an entire week exploring Vegas, Cherry honestly highly recommends it as a family destination. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that beneath the glamorous, party-centric facade of Sin City, there are actually so many wonderful places perfectly suited for children. Our two-year-old had the time of his life, and ever since we got home, he's been constantly asking when we can go back to America!
