Want to make sure you don't miss any of the best free spots on the Strip? Let’s dive in!

1. Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Sign

Photo from internet

Built in 1959 and proudly declaring "Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada", this massive neon sign is undoubtedly one of the most recognizable landmarks in the city. The moment you see those glowing, colorful lights and read that familiar greeting, you know you've officially arrived in Vegas! Located at the very south end of the Strip, the sign is framed by rows of palm trees and the bustling cityscape in the background. It’s an absolute must for capturing that perfect vacation photo!

2. Luxor Las Vegas

Vegas insiders know that exploring hotel lobbies is an unmissable free activity. Located at the south end of the Strip, the Luxor Las Vegas boasts an exterior that will leave you completely speechless! Its unique design features a massive black pyramid guarded by a majestic replica of the Great Sphinx of Giza, creating an atmosphere full of mystery and ancient history. It’s especially striking at night when the pyramid is illuminated and a powerful, piercing beam of light shoots straight up into the night sky—it seriously feels like a movie set! The hotel lobby perfectly continues the ancient Egyptian theme, making you feel as though you've stepped into a lavish palace. It's incredibly photogenic from the inside out!

The Big Apple vibe extends right into the hotel itself. Walking into New York-New York, you'll discover another, rather unique "Statue of Liberty"—but instead of holding the US Constitution, this one is holding a giant Hershey's chocolate bar! That's right, the Hershey's Chocolate World flagship store is located right inside. This two-story chocolate paradise is packed with merchandise, and the air literally smells like sweet, enchanting chocolate. The absolute highlight is the incredibly festive Statue of Liberty at the entrance, carved entirely from 800 pounds of Hershey's milk chocolate! There's also a red Statue of Liberty made entirely of Twizzlers at the second-floor entrance. Even if you aren't a massive chocoholic, it’s a super fun and quick spot to snap some memorable photos!

4. M&M's World

★ Address: 3785 S Las Vegas Blvd|Map Link
★ Hours: Daily 9am-12am

M&M's World is a spectacularly colorful, four-story wonderland filled to the brim with vibrant M&M's merchandise. Not only does it feature a massive, rainbow-hued wall of M&M's where you can customize your own mix, but there are also tons of fun art installations featuring different M&M's characters. They even have a genuine M&M's NASCAR race car on display! It's incredibly fun to browse and absolutely perfect for taking photos.

5. Coca-Cola Store

★ Address: 3785 S Las Vegas Blvd|Map Link
★ Hours: Daily 10am-12am

Right next door to M&M's World is the Coca-Cola Store flagship. The colossal Coca-Cola glass bottle built into the exterior wall is so eye-catching, you can spot it from a mile away! Step inside, and you're surrounded by that classic Coke red and white. Their merchandise is incredibly diverse; while they have toys to catch the kids' attention, they actually carry a lot more items that appeal to adults compared to the chocolate stores, including tech accessories, home goods, lip balms, and more. It appeals to all ages! Whether you're a die-hard soda fan or not, you'll have a blast exploring this store.

6. Aria Resort & Casino

Opened in late 2009, Aria Resort & Casino is relatively new compared to some of the historic giants on the Strip. Known for its sleek, modern design and upscale amenities, its lobby is delightfully luxurious and well worth a stroll. The photo above shows their beautiful Christmas decorations during the holiday season!

The "Aria Express", funded by Aria, is a free monorail (click here for our free tram guide!) that connects the Bellagio, The Shops at Crystals, and Park MGM. To get to Aria, just take the tram to The Shops at Crystals—Aria is right next door. You can conveniently do some window shopping at Crystals while you're at it!

7. The Chandelier Bar

★ Address: Floor 1 The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas|Map Link
★ Hours: Open 24 Hours

Located inside The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, "The Chandelier" is a spectacular lounge that is entirely shaped like a massive, multi-story crystal chandelier. It maxes out the chic, modern nightclub vibe! If you want to feel what it's like to sit completely enveloped inside a chandelier, we highly recommend grabbing a seat on the 1.5-floor level. But if you don't feel like buying a drink, taking photos from the outside is completely free and just as gorgeous!

8. Fountains of Bellagio

The Fountains of Bellagio are arguably the most famous free attraction in Las Vegas—everyone knows about them! With over 1,200 jets shooting water up to 24 stories high, this magnificent fountain show is absolutely breathtaking, especially with the Bellagio or the Paris Las Vegas hotel as a backdrop. The booming sound of the water erupting can be heard from far away, even over the bustling noise of the Strip. Thanks to its frequent showtimes, it's honestly hard to miss if you're walking around! For the latest show schedule, be sure to check their official website.

Photo from official site – 2024 Summer Theme

Located inside the Bellagio, the Conservatory & Botanical Gardens is an ultra-luxurious indoor garden that changes its elaborate floral displays to match different holidays and seasons. In 2024, for example, the themes rotated through Lunar New Year, Spring, Summer, Fall, and the Holiday season. Even though it's completely free to visit, the setups are incredibly intricate and opulent. During the day, natural light pours in through the glass ceiling, and at night, the theatrical lighting gives the gardens a totally different, enchanting beauty!

The photo above is from the Christmas theme during our visit. Besides the stunningly decorated Christmas tree, there was even a moving miniature Coca-Cola train—it was ridiculously cute! If you want to check out this generous free attraction, just be aware that they close the garden for about a week between seasonal changes to install the new exhibits. Make sure to double-check the exhibition schedule before you book your flights and hotel!

10. Guinness World Record Chocolate Fountain

★ Location: Inside Bellagio at Bellagio Patisserie|Map Link
★ Hours: Daily 6am-10pm

The "Bellagio Patisserie" not only serves up an array of exquisite handmade pastries but is also home to the world's largest chocolate fountain! Watching this massive, 27-foot-tall fountain cascade with endless, silky smooth chocolate like a waterfall is unbelievably mesmerizing and therapeutic. When you're at the Bellagio checking out the water show and the botanical gardens, you can easily swing by and cross this Guinness World Record attraction off your list!

11. Paris Las Vegas

Photo from internet

When most people picture Las Vegas, Paris Las Vegas is almost certainly in the frame. With its 541-foot-tall half-scale replica of the Eiffel Tower and the iconic Montgolfier balloon neon sign, it adds a distinct touch of French romance to the Strip. There's even an observation deck inside where visitors can take in panoramic views of Vegas from above. Paris Las Vegas is unequivocally one of the most iconic, must-photograph landmarks for anyone visiting the city.

12. Flamingo Wildlife Habitat

★ Location: Inside the Flamingo Hotel|Map Link
★ Hours: Daily 7am-8pm, Free Entry

If you need a break from the flashing neon lights and bustling traffic of the Strip, head over to the "Flamingo Wildlife Habitat" nestled inside the Flamingo Hotel. Here, a flock of beautiful pink flamingos lives a leisurely life, sharing this little sanctuary with hundreds of other birds, exotic fish, and turtles. It functions like a charming mini-zoo right on the Strip! You can even spot the High Roller observation wheel from the habitat. Flamingos, casinos, and a giant Ferris wheel all in one glance—it's a wonderfully surreal Vegas view! The location is right next to the High Roller, and the Flamingo Hotel entrance connects right to The LINQ Promenade, making it super easy to bundle these attractions together.

13. The LINQ Promenade

★ Location: Between Flamingo and The LINQ Hotel|Map Link
★ Hours: Open 24 Hours, Free

The LINQ Promenade is located right in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip. With rows of palm trees, chic boutiques, diverse food options, and the massive High Roller Ferris wheel 🎡 anchoring the background, the vibe here is incredibly relaxed. It almost feels like you've teleported to a sunny coastal town! Because of its prime location, there's a lovely little plaza with a fountain and plenty of relatively affordable dining choices. The best part is that it's completely pedestrian-only, making it the perfect spot to escape the traffic of the Strip, grab a bite, and just breathe for a bit!

As an added bonus recommendation, right at the end of The LINQ Promenade sits the largest observation wheel in North America 👉🏼 the "High Roller". While it's not a free attraction, the High Roller offers unparalleled views of the dazzling Strip from 550 feet in the air. More importantly, it gives you a close-up, birds-eye view of The Sphere—the largest spherical building in the world! Watching the visuals on that massive dome, powered by 1.2 million LED panels, is a truly unprecedented visual feast. We highly, highly recommend it!

14. Atlantis Show & Aquarium

★ Location: Inside The Forum Shops at Caesars|Map Link
★ Time: Thu-Mon 12pm-8pm on the hour|Closed Tue & Wed

When it comes to the best free shows on the Strip, "The Atlantis Show" inside The Forum Shops at Caesars absolutely makes the list! It's a mythological animatronic show staged in a beautiful Roman-themed indoor plaza. The moving statues and intense fire effects are super engaging to watch. Right in the same plaza, there's a fantastic little aquarium. While it's not huge, it features cool ancient ruins inside the tank and houses a wide variety of fish, including cute little sharks and stingrays! It might not compare to a massive aquarium, but hey, it's free! Keep in mind that the show doesn't run on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, so plan your itinerary accordingly. On other days, it plays every hour on the hour from noon to 8 PM. Check their official website for the latest updates.

15. The Venetian Resort

If you're embarking on a walking tour of the Strip, The Venetian is an absolute must-visit. Designed to faithfully replicate the architecture and romance of Venice, Italy, the resort features everything from the iconic Campanile tower to winding canals, romantic gondolas, and a stunningly realistic replica of St. Mark's Square! Glistening under the bright Vegas sun, The Venetian looks like a magnificent painting, drawing endless streams of tourists every day.

Performers at St. Mark's Square

Inside the hotel at St. Mark's Square, you can often catch free live performances.

Street Performer

During our visit, we also ran into some street performers (living statues) hired by the hotel. Normally, if you take photos with costumed street performers out on the Strip, you are expected to give a hefty tip (always negotiate a price before snapping a pic!). But here, we noticed many tourists taking photos with the hotel's in-house performers without tipping, or just leaving whatever they felt like. If you want a fun photo with a street performer without the high-pressure tipping culture, you can definitely try your luck at The Venetian!

16. The Sphere

★ Age Requirement: 6 years and older
★ Address: 255 Sands Ave, Las Vegas|Map Link
★ Tickets: Official Website

Officially opened on September 29, 2023, the Sphere (located just east of The Venetian) is a mind-blowing immersive entertainment arena. Costing a staggering $2.3 billion to build, it holds the title as the largest spherical structure in the world. It’s the most expensive and currently the hottest, most viral attraction in Vegas history! This colossal dome features 18,600 seats and you can buy tickets to go inside for "The Sphere Experience". But if you prefer not to pay, you can still get incredibly close outside and marvel at the massive, wrap-around LED exterior for free. Seeing those jaw-dropping visuals play across the giant screen right in front of your eyes is simply awe-inspiring.

17. Wynn Las Vegas & Lake of Dreams Show

The Wynn Hotel is a luxurious five-star resort themed around vibrant, colorful florals. The moment you step into the Wynn, you're greeted by a whimsical carousel made entirely of flowers, set against a backdrop of leafy indoor trees. It truly feels like wandering into a fairy's enchanted forest. The rich, bold floral arrangements on the floor add to the magical, fairytale vibe without ever feeling tacky. It is without a doubt Cherry's personal favorite hotel on the Las Vegas Strip!

If you happen to be near the Wynn after dark, be sure to catch their complimentary "Lake of Dreams" show. This multimedia spectacle of music, lights, and projections over the hotel's man-made lake and waterfall lasts about five minutes. When we visited in November, it ran every 30 minutes starting at 6 PM (dusk). Showtimes can vary, so definitely check the hotel's current schedule.

Entrance to North Show Terrace

Most of the prime viewing spots are from the restaurants bordering the lake, where you can watch while you dine. However, we discovered a fantastic spot where you can watch the show entirely for free: the "North Show Terrace".

Bar Parasol

If you aren't sure where that is, just look for "Bar Parasol", a lounge decorated with beautifully exotic, floating parasol lamps. The entrance to the North Show Terrace is right next to it.

There you have it—17 incredible free attractions that Cherry highly recommends after spending a glorious week exploring the Las Vegas Strip! We really hope you find this helpful for your trip planning!
