The Strat Hotel is located at the far north end of the Las Vegas Strip, putting it quite a distance away from the main hustle and bustle. As a result, the observation deck isn't overly crowded. Compared to the noisy, chaotic energy of the central Strip, the atmosphere up here at the Strat SkyPod is incredibly relaxed. When you ascend to the 1,149-foot (350-meter) observation deck, you get sweeping panoramic views of the sprawling city and distant desert mountains. Yet, the vibrant Strip feels so close, almost like you could reach out and touch it!

Many major tourist cities have an iconic tower like this, and you just know immediately that there's going to be an observation deck at the top. Las Vegas is no exception! 🤣 Today, we're going to share our experience checking out the Strat SkyPod!

Right next to The Strat Hotel, there’s a cute archway with "Las Vegas" written in soft, pastel pink. The Strat is located at the very northern tip of the 4.2-mile (6.8 km) Las Vegas Strip, and we have to admit, it really is quite a distance from the other major attractions. For getting around, we highly recommend taking the "Deuce bus" that runs all along the Strip and into Downtown Las Vegas. However, if your hotel happens to be on the Monorail side and near a station, you can also take the Las Vegas Monorail to the station near The Strat and walk over.
Cherry actually took the Monorail, but since The Strat is away from the busy parts of the Strip, the streets were quite empty. Walking alone with our son, Cherry felt a bit uneasy. Because of this, as soon as it got dark and she finished taking night photos, she left immediately, not daring to stay too late. Following behind a large group of tourists definitely made her feel much safer!

Once inside The Strat, just follow the signs to find the Box Office. If you haven't booked your tickets online in advance, you can buy them here on the spot. But we highly recommend grabbing your tickets on Klook ahead of time. You can just scan your code to redeem them, and the price is actually cheaper than buying them at the door!

If you don't have a stroller with you, you can simply use the escalators right in front of the Box Office. Since we were pushing a stroller, we specifically asked the ticket staff where the elevators were, and to our surprise, they handed us a super detailed visual guide! 🤣

To take the elevator up to the observation deck, you first need to find the "Center Elevators" located behind the Strat Cafe. Take the third elevator from the left.

Once inside the elevator, press "R" (which stands for Retail Level).

When you arrive at the Retail Level, exit the elevator, walk through the hallway, and turn left out the door. Follow the arrow pointing to the front left, where you'll go through security and ticket check before catching the elevator straight up to the 108th-floor observation deck.

That first glance as you step out of the elevator is absolutely breathtaking!

The daytime version of the Las Vegas Strip! Because we were at the far north end, the dense cluster of resort hotels along the Strip felt almost close enough to touch. You can also get a crystal-clear view of Vegas's newest and most famous landmark, "The Sphere"—the largest spherical building in the world. Set against the bustling city, it creates a truly unique landscape.

The classic observation deck signage points out the names of the sights in the background!

If the weather is good, the observation deck is actually stunning during the day!

We originally thought a place like this—all scenery and no action—would be strictly for adults. We completely didn't expect it to be so perfect for little ones! Our son was surprisingly fascinated by the high-altitude views and happily entertained himself looking out the windows for a very long time.

There are some high-top tables and chairs scattered around the deck.

There are also plenty of sofas where you can sit down, relax, zone out, and take in the beautiful Vegas skyline. Compared to the loud hustle and bustle of the Strip, the Strat SkyPod is incredibly comfortable and peaceful.

They also sell food on the 108th floor. A lot of people grab a bite and a drink around sunset, sit on a high chair, and just hang out while watching the sun go down. It's such a vibe!

The starting point for the SkyJump is also on the 108th floor! You'll see a lot of tourists gathering around here to watch the exact moment these brave challengers take the leap!

Your ticket includes access to both the 108th and 109th floors. Level 108 is indoors, while Level 109 is outdoors. There is no time limit for your visit! Whenever you're ready, just head over to the elevators and let the staff know you want to go up to the 109th floor.

If you are using a wheelchair or pushing a stroller, you'll need to use the small elevator shown on the left of the stairs leading to the outdoor area on the 109th floor. There's a phone on the wall next to the stairs, and apparently, you can pick it up to call a staff member to come operate the lift. (Cherry thought it was a bit too much hassle, so we just left the stroller behind and walked outside with our son.)

The view from the 109th floor! There's even a thoughtful marker on the ground showing you the best spot for selfies!

The 109th floor has no glass windows, which makes it much easier to take clear photos. However, there are safety fences installed to protect visitors. For little kids who aren't tall enough, the unobstructed glass views from the floor below are probably a bit prettier than looking through the bars! 😅

Level 109 also has some super thrilling amusement rides you can pay to experience! You can conveniently buy these as a combo with your admission ticket.

After exploring the outdoor 109th floor, you can always go back down to the 108th! Just let the elevator attendant know. The observation deck was so cozy that we accidentally stayed all the way until sunset. As the sun went down, you could clearly see the giant shadow cast by The Strat tower!

The distant mountains were dyed a beautiful shade of pink by the setting sun. It was absolutely gorgeous!

The Las Vegas Strip at dusk. Once the surroundings darkened, The Sphere looked even more dazzling and spectacular!

While taking the elevator, we chatted with the staff and asked whether they recommend visiting the observation deck during the day or at night. She answered without hesitation: "Nighttime." And sure enough, once night fell, Las Vegas revealed its glamorous side, illuminated by countless bright lights and neon signs!

To be honest, observation decks like this are a dime a dozen in famous cities around the world. Especially after visiting the Burj Khalifa in Dubai—the tallest in the world—Cherry really didn't have high expectations for this one! But since The Strat's SkyPod isn't swarming with tourists, we were able to enjoy a close-up view of the Strip in a completely relaxed atmosphere. Then, you turn your head, and on the other side, there's a vast expanse of flat-roofed houses stretching out toward the earthy desert mountains. That strong contrast between the desert and the bustling city is quite striking!
📌 Ticket Info: The Strat SkyPod|High Roller Observation Wheel
Of course, if you want a closer look at "The Sphere," we'd highly recommend riding the High Roller Observation Wheel located at The LINQ Promenade. However, the High Roller takes 30 minutes for a full rotation. During the ride, you have The Sphere on one side and the Strip on the other—both views are stunning, so you end up spending the entire 30 minutes frantically snapping photos! 😅 If you prefer a more laid-back vibe, The Strat SkyPod is a fantastic choice. Overall, Cherry highly recommends The Strat observation deck. We think that between this and the High Roller Observation Wheel, you "at least" need to pick one of them as a must-visit spot in Las Vegas! If you have enough time, we highly recommend experiencing both!
