Legend has it that Atlantis was a highly advanced civilization that was completely submerged into the depths of the ocean overnight by a great flood. The Lost Chambers Aquarium brings the mysterious legend of Atlantis to life perfectly! The atmosphere inside the aquarium, the incredible aquascaping in the tanks, and the beautiful schools of fish swimming among the ancient ruins completely immerse you in the experience. It makes you feel as if you are truly exploring the sunken city of Atlantis on the ocean floor, making it one of our highly recommended must-visit attractions in Dubai.

Atlantis Aquarium

Located inside the stunning Atlantis, The Palm hotel in Dubai, The Lost Chambers Aquarium is a sight to behold. Although the aquarium itself is on the smaller side, peering through the glass makes you feel like you are witnessing the once-glorious lost empire of Atlantis with your very own eyes. It left such a lasting impression on us. Let's dive in and explore together!

The Lost Chambers Aquarium Info (Updated Dec 2024)

★ Opening Hours: Daily 10 AM - 9 PM
★ Transport: Take the Monorail to Atlantis Aquaventure station, then walk for 2 minutes | Transport Guide
★ Tickets: Official Website | Klook | Aquaventure Waterpark Combo | This attraction is included in the Klook Dubai Pass

Honestly, the ticket prices for The Lost Chambers Aquarium are quite steep. While the exhibits are stunningly beautiful, the aquarium isn't very large. Paying the official website price of AED 155 for adults and AED 115 for kids feels a bit pricey. We highly recommend getting a combo ticket that includes the Atlantis Aquaventure Waterpark right next door, or using the Klook Dubai Pass to get the best bang for your buck!

If you decide to buy the Aquaventure Waterpark combo, we strongly suggest hitting the waterpark first, as it closes early at 5:30 PM. We made the mistake of visiting the aquarium first and didn't get to the waterpark until 2:30 PM… As a result, despite spending a pretty penny on the combo tickets, we only had time to rush through two rides before the park closed! (The famous clear water slide, Shark Attack, alone takes an hour to queue up for). So, for those buying the combo, remember to arrive early, conquer the waterpark first, and then relax at the aquarium!

Getting back on track 😏 As soon as we stepped through the entrance, we were enveloped by a mysterious atmosphere. We must have visited during super off-peak hours (everyone else was probably already at the waterpark.. 😭…) because there was absolutely no one there!!!

If you step on the blue lights in the bottom left corner of the photo below, you'll be treated to a fun little surprise!

The first thing that catches your eye are the mesmerizing jellyfish.

After that, every single tank is meticulously designed with ruins of the ancient Atlantis civilization, paired with fish we've never even seen before! (Or maybe it's just me who hasn't seen them 😆). It genuinely feels like you've arrived at the sunken city of Atlantis. It's said that this aquarium is home to around 65,000 different marine animals~~~

This brightly colored fish completely caught my eye; its neon colors are so unreal it almost looks like an alien~~~

Atlantis Aquarium

The backdrop of every tank is incredibly detailed and exquisite.

You can really tell that a ton of thought and effort went into designing every inch of this space.

I think this backdrop is absolutely perfect for lobsters!

Finally, you'll arrive at the spot in the picture below~~~

The iconic signature scene that The Lost Chambers Aquarium always features in its ads!

Even though we've seen it countless times in advertisements, looking at photos doesn't even come close to the awe of seeing it in person~~~ The massive tank is absolutely teeming with fish!

Plus, the overall design feels incredibly story-driven. There’s a giant basin shooting bubbles upward, and an "Atlantean" facing away from us holding a trident. All the props, from the floor to the walls, make me completely willing to believe that the real Atlantis is right before my eyes!

The stingray below looks like it's smiling and has so much personality! There’s also a rare leopard-print stingray swimming around~~ It’s just too cute!!! 😍

We circled the aquarium several times trying to find a tank where we could see the front of the Atlantean pictured below. After asking the staff, we finally found out that you actually have to go to the Ambassador Lagoon to see his face!

It requires a separate entry ticket of AED 45 per person (around USD $12), same price for adults and kids. Apparently, you only get access to the front view of this massive tank there. We originally planned to go in… but we had to rush off to the waterpark… So, in the end, we never figured out what this Atlantean actually looks like. It’s a little regret we had to leave behind!

The AED 45 ticket includes an AED 10 credit towards your purchase at the illy cafe (based on Jan 2019 info).

If you’re interested in scuba diving, snorkeling, or taking an underwater walk, they offer those amazing options too!

The Lost Chambers Aquarium may not be the biggest aquarium we've ever visited, but it is definitely one of our favorites~~!!! If you love that retro, mysterious vibe, be sure to embark on a magical journey to the Lost Chambers of Atlantis the next time you visit Dubai!!
