The buffet breakfast at the Renaissance Bali Uluwatu Resort & Spa features a fantastic variety of Indonesian, Western, and Chinese cuisines, along with plenty of made-to-order options. Besides the incredibly rich buffet, what really stands out is the resort's special treatment for Marriott Bonvoy members! As we've mentioned before, Silver Elite members and above get special dining discounts, and for breakfast, Silver Elites and higher can even choose to dine in the resort's premium restaurant, Double Ikat!

There's a huge sign right at the entrance of Double Ikat~

We're not sure if it was because we visited during the low season, but out of the four days we had breakfast at the resort, we were the only table in Double Ikat for three of them! Perhaps because it wasn't crowded, the attentive service here was easily some of the best we've ever experienced. For example, when we went to the buffet to grab a bowl of noodle soup, they immediately and automatically brought us chopsticks as soon as we sat down. Their thoughtfulness was truly amazing!

As for the food, there are seven à la carte items you can order directly from the menu. In the spirit of experimentation, we ordered every single one over our four-day stay. Here are our thoughts on each breakfast dish! A little spoiler: one of them was absolutely incredible, and even as we're writing this blog post, we're craving another plate right now!

Avocado Poached Egg with crushed cashews — this dish is definitely a fail-proof classic for Western brunch! Cherry, who loves avocado, ordered this on our very first day. The plating is beautiful, featuring fresh guacamole topped with a perfectly cooked poached egg! Since it tasted similar to what we can get at many brunch spots back home, we didn't order it again, but it's still a great choice for avocado lovers!

Following the avocado poached egg is another brunch classic: Ham Eggs Benedict!!

You can actually grab Eggs Benedict from the buffet line as well, but the à la carte version is plated so much more beautifully! If you love Eggs Benedict, we recommend ordering it from the menu. After all, when the presentation is this pretty, even the same dish somehow feels like it tastes a little better! 😆

The most locally inspired dish on the menu is hands-down the Uluwatu Benedict. It swaps the traditional English muffin for a fluffy steamed bun (Gua Bao) and replaces the ham with Indonesian-style pulled pork. Finally, it's topped with a poached egg, hollandaise sauce, and a sprinkle of Bali's classic spicy condiment, Sambal Matah. If you love trying unique local flavors, you cannot miss this one!

They also have the Uluwatu Benedict at the buffet, but instead of a steamed bun, it's wrapped up in something similar to a tortilla. It's really tasty too!

When we saw this Chorizo Scrambled Egg, we couldn't help but admire the chef's incredible plating skills! Who knew you could make such a common hotel breakfast dish look this stunning? It starts with a base of black charcoal bread, topped with bright yellow scrambled eggs and vibrant red cherry tomatoes. The contrast of black, red, and yellow is perfect. It instantly elevated a simple plate of scrambled eggs into something so luxurious!

Breakfast Burrito! This burrito is packed with eggs, sausage, bacon, and cheese. It's quite a generous portion, and eating it feels a bit like having an omelet-flavored burrito. This is probably the most egg-heavy dish on the menu, so if you're an egg lover, definitely give this one a try!

Signature Waffle. After taking just one bite of this ice cream waffle, we completely understood why it's the "Signature" dish!!! The waffle is crispy on the outside but soft and moist on the inside. The waffle itself isn't too sweet, and pairing it with the coconut ice cream hits the absolute perfect level of sweetness. It's refreshing with a delicate hint of coconut. Oh my god!! It is SO. GOOD. ~~~!!! Cherry, who usually finds waffles too filling, dry, and heavy, polished off the entire plate in one go!! We highly recommend this waffle. We became instantly obsessed and insisted on ordering one as our final dessert every single day!

Banana Pancake with Maple Syrup. The bananas 🍌 are baked directly into the pancake! It's topped with mixed berries, and the edge of the plate is elaborately drizzled with berry compote. The pancake itself isn't overly sweet, relying perfectly on the natural sweetness of the bananas. The slightly tart berries cut through any richness, making it very enjoyable and tasty!

In addition to the exquisite à la carte dishes, they offer healthy fresh fruit and vegetable juices to members every day (we're guessing this is also for Silver Elite and above). Once you finish your glass, the friendly staff will come over and ask if you'd like a refill. Even if you choose to dine in Clay Craft (where the main buffet is located), you can still enjoy these healthy juices and the à la carte breakfast service!

Double Ikat is located right next to Clay Craft, so grabbing food from the buffet is literally just a few steps away!

The hot food selection is massive. This is just one of the rows!

Across the aisle, there's another full row of hot dishes!

Nasi Goreng (Indonesian fried rice) and Mie Goreng (fried noodles) are classic staples available almost every day~

If you love pastries and bread for breakfast, there are so many options for you too!

Chinese dim sum snacks~

Piping hot siu mai!!

Appetizing salads and cheeses.

There are 10 different kinds of fruit alone!!

This even includes Salak (snake fruit), which we had never seen before! We actually had to ask the staff, "How do you peel this?" just to get it open 😆. The outer skin has little scales and truly looks exactly like snake skin! Salak tastes slightly tart and isn't very sweet, but it has a distinct fruity aroma. The flavor is definitely an acquired taste. We weren't big fans on the first bite, but after trying a couple more, the taste totally grew on us!

Besides the fresh fruit, there are also four different flavors of freshly squeezed juices~~ Isn't that impressive?

The resort even prepares several different yogurt options for vegan guests!

For the made-to-order stations, they have the essential hotel breakfast egg counter~

There's a live noodle station where you can choose your own toppings!

The noodles are mostly Indonesian style, which is quite unique. However, we have to admit it still couldn't beat the incredible Pho we had at the JW Marriott Phu Quoc breakfast in Vietnam! 😆

There's also a pancake and waffle station. We didn't order from here so we aren't 100% sure, but we imagine you can get the same waffles here that are available on the member's à la carte menu!

Freshly made crepe batter sizzling away~

The crepes here are the slightly crispy kind!

The breakfast at the Renaissance Bali Uluwatu Resort & Spa is truly outstanding. Walking around the buffet is dazzling—there are so many options we didn't even know where to begin, and everything tasted quite delicious! Later, we noticed an award "plate" displayed in the restaurant's pottery studio. It turns out this resort's breakfast won an Editor's Choice Award in 2019!

Finally, if you are a Marriott Bonvoy Silver Elite member or above, we highly recommend heading to Double Ikat to enjoy their VIP breakfast service. Not only is the service absolutely number one, but the view outside the floor-to-ceiling windows is gorgeous!

For friends who already have a Marriott Bonvoy membership or are planning to join, we strongly suggest booking the Renaissance Bali directly through the official Marriott website. This guarantees you'll receive all your elite benefits and earn points. If you book through third-party websites, there's a high chance you won't be able to enjoy those membership perks during your stay!
