The JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay Resort boasts four distinct restaurants and one bar. Each dining spot has a super unique themed concept and serves different types of cuisine to cater to every guest's cravings. Today, we're giving you a complete, detailed walkthrough of all of them!~~~

1. The Resort's All-Day Dining: Tempus Fugit

Tempus Fugit is the resort's only all-day dining restaurant. This is where you'll have your daily breakfast, and they also serve lunch and dinner. The entire restaurant is designed to be the Department of Architecture studio within Lamarck University. If you're curious about the fascinating fictional backstory of JW Marriott's Lamarck University, check out our post here: Read More: This isn't a hotel, it's a European-style university! | JW Marriott Phu Quoc Resort Review

Since it's themed as an architecture studio, the walls are decorated with lots of adorable miniature architectural models!

The restaurant also offers some lovely outdoor seating!

It's located right next to Emerald Bay, so you can enjoy beautiful ocean views while you eat.

Even though we booked this resort before Marriott's loyalty program revamp, by the time we checked in, the new rules were in place… which meant Marriott Gold members no longer got free breakfast!!!! But since there really isn't anywhere else to eat nearby unless you leave the resort, we ended up paying out of pocket for our morning meals. A buffet breakfast costs 675,000 VND (about $29 USD) per person. Moments like this really make you appreciate the value of a Marriott Platinum complimentary breakfast…

Even at $29 USD a person, we have to admit the variety here is impressive enough to score high marks! They offer a massive selection of international breakfast options, including Japanese, Korean, Chinese, and Western dishes—and of course, authentic Vietnamese fare!~

They serve Bánh Mì (Vietnamese baguettes) every single day, and they thoughtfully offer both meat and vegetarian options!! This Bánh Mì was easily my absolute favorite part of breakfast. The French baguette is perfectly crispy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside, and packed with unique Vietnamese fillings. Just thinking about it now makes my mouth water!!

How can you visit Vietnam and not have Phở? The Phở flavors change daily, and for a hotel breakfast hot dish, it ranks incredibly high. Honestly, even to this day, no other hotel's breakfast noodle soup or Phở has ever managed to beat this bowl in my heart!

Naturally, you can't skip the tropical fruits when you're in Vietnam. They had jackfruit, rambutan, and so much more. There was even fresh passion fruit (which we rarely see back home in Canada) and deliciously expensive dragon fruit!~

Every morning, my favorite part of breakfast was checking out the daily mixed juice specials—and then grabbing a little bit of everything to try! Honestly, the fresh fruit and freshly squeezed juices alone made this breakfast worth the price for me!!!

Many hotels offer made-to-order waffles, omelets, and the like. Besides all those classics, this resort's breakfast also features made-to-order French toast, which is pretty tasty. However, given Cherry's limited breakfast stomach capacity, eating just that would fill me up completely XD… so we didn't dare order it again for the rest of our stay!~~~ 😆

The most impressive part? During specific times at breakfast, there's actually someone playing a live Dan Tranh (a traditional Vietnamese zither)! This kind of live morning musical performance is something we haven't seen at any other hotel or resort so far 😆. It's definitely one of those unforgettable little details that makes JW Marriott Phu Quoc so special!

Beyond breakfast, this restaurant also serves phenomenal Vietnamese cuisine for lunch and dinner. Their stir-fried water spinach (morning glory) and winter melon soup offer incredible value for money and perfectly hit the spot for us (though they were such everyday comfort foods that we completely forgot to take pictures of them XD). We could eat them endlessly without ever getting tired of it. Because of this, Tempus Fugit was our go-to dinner spot whenever we weren't eating at the night market.

2. Beachside BBQ Restaurant: Red Rum (Serves Lunch & Dinner)

Red Rum is a more casual, laid-back beachside barbecue restaurant. Located right on the sand, it's completely surrounded by resort-style palm trees!~

Thanks to its prime beachfront location, the menu focuses on grilled seafood and elevated bar food. It's the perfect spot to grab a bite and take a break after playing on the beach, letting you enjoy the sea breeze and ocean views.

One thing to keep in mind: on the night the resort hosts its own internal night market, Red Rum actually moves its entire operation into the market itself, meaning the beachside restaurant location is closed for the evening! Since our dinners were usually either at the night market in Phu Quoc town or at Tempus Fugit, the only time we actually ate Red Rum's food was at the resort's night market. If you're interested, you can read more here: [Read More: JW Marriott Resort's Exclusive Phu Quoc Night Market]

However, according to friends who have dined at Red Rum for dinner, the mosquitoes can be a bit fierce at night. So if you're a mosquito magnet like us, you might be better off ordering their food via Room Service and enjoying it in the comfort of your room!~

We highly recommend their stall at the resort's night market! Not only do they bring out fresh seafood for you to hand-pick, but they also set up lovely wooden tables facing the sea. They light romantic little candles and even provide live musical performances.

3. French Café: French & Co. (Serves Lunch & Dinner)

French & Co. is a charming café offering a gorgeous array of French pastries. It's located right on the resort's main street (Rue de Lamarck), surrounded by the gym, Spa, lantern shop, gallery, and photography studio, making it a super convenient stop. Also, the cooking classes listed on the resort's activity schedule [Read More: Resort Activities] are all held in this very café!

The entire interior design screams French elegance. There's even a traditional brick oven built into the wall, used for baking all sorts of French pastries and fresh breads.

The beverage selection is fantastic! Besides non-alcoholic choices like coffee, tea, juice, soda, and smoothies, they also serve alcoholic options like beer, red wine, and white wine!~

The food leans more towards light bites, and the portions aren't massive. Pricing-wise, since it's a five-star resort, eating a meal here costs about the same as going to a nice café back in Canada. But honestly, since we usually stuffed ourselves at the breakfast buffet, we either skipped lunch entirely or just grabbed a quick light bite here!~

We ordered the Phu Quoc Seafood Pie. I'd say the portion is enough to fill up the ladies, but guys will probably still be hungry afterwards!~

Without a doubt, our absolute favorite item at French & Co. was their special tropical fruit smoothie. We ordered it every single time! Even though it was technically the "Special of the day," we always asked, "Do you still have it today XD?" Eventually, we ordered it so often that the staff knew exactly what we wanted the moment we walked in! 😆

Made with a blend of pineapple, mango, banana, coconut water, and a touch of spinach, this smoothie was nutritious and incredibly delicious! (The best part? It had the highest value-for-money ratio compared to all the other drinks XD). Whenever we had free time between classes or activities, we'd swing by French & Co. to snack, drink, and rest. It easily became one of our most-visited spots on the property.

4. Fine-Dining French Restaurant: Pink Pearl (Dinner Only)

Pink Pearl is the resort's most lavish and luxurious fine-dining French restaurant. It features one large open dining room along with six private dining rooms, all housed within a gorgeous two-story, ocean-facing garden mansion.

When talking about Pink Pearl, we have to revisit the lore of Lamarck University! "Legend has it" that this restaurant was opened by the wife of the University Dean. Because the Dean's wife absolutely adored the color pink, not only is the entire mansion decorated in pink hues, but she even named it "Pink Pearl." Initially, she was just incredibly hospitable, frequently inviting friends and family over to her beautifully and warmly decorated home. Eventually, this blossomed into opening the restaurant!~ If you're loving the Lamarck University backstory, definitely check out our post: [Read More: This isn't a hotel, it's a European-style university! | JW Marriott Phu Quoc Resort Review]

Because of this backstory, stepping into the restaurant feels exactly like being invited into someone's spectacular, opulent home. The first floor features a "living room" setup with multiple sofa sets alongside the open dining area. The second floor holds private rooms styled as formal dining rooms and drawing rooms. Downstairs, there's even a wine cellar-themed private room in the basement! Every single corner and room has been meticulously designed.

In the extravagant first-floor living room, if you look closely, you'll spot traces of various bird species hidden in the decor.

For a split second, I was totally distracted and instantly thought of the owls from Harry Potter!~

The living room chairs feature a peacock feather pattern to perfectly match the majestic peacock perched high up on the wall.

There are even flightless birds! A penguin 🐧 stands proudly on the railing of the spiral staircase leading down to the basement!

The walls of the staircase are also beautifully painted with cranes~ There really are bird motifs everywhere! It seems the Dean's wife didn't just love pink; she was also a massive fan of all kinds of birds! 😆

The second floor features private rooms designed like formal dining spaces.

There's also a more relaxed drawing room. If we didn't tell you, wouldn't you think this was just a living room in some billionaire's mansion? You wouldn't even guess it's a restaurant!

The basement houses the wine cellar, packed with so many bottles it’s almost dazzling!

Besides actually storing an impressive wine collection, there is also a private dining room themed exactly like a wine cellar.

Inside this room, wine bottles are displayed everywhere—even around the sink and covering the walls.

As for the food, the menu focuses exclusively on French fine dining. The cheapest appetizer on the menu runs about 590,000 VND, which is roughly $25 USD!

You can order à la carte or opt for their tasting menus. While the prices are certainly steep, experiencing this wildly gorgeous, exotic decor while enjoying top-tier French cuisine is definitely a bucket-list-worthy experience!

Hours: Tuesday to Saturday, 6pm - 10pm (Closed Sundays & Mondays)
Dress Code: Smart casual (Men must wear long pants and closed-toe shoes)
Note: Children aged 8-12 are welcome in the family private room (accommodates up to 8 guests)

5. Department of Chemistry Bar (Evenings Only)

Source: JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay Resort & Spa Web Page

Situated right next to Emerald Bay, the Department of Chemistry Bar is arguably the most talked-about spot in the entire resort!

The counters are lined with bottles, jars, measuring cups, and glass flasks. If you don't look closely, you'll absolutely think you've wandered into a real chemistry lab!

There are display cabinets filled with chemical elements, decked out with on-theme beakers and glassware!~ We just have to say, the designer committed so hard to this theme that we are completely in awe of the dedication!!!!!

This chemistry bar arguably boasts the best views out of all the dining venues. Look out the window, and Emerald Bay looks literally like a painting!

We popped in to admire the chemistry bar several times, but since we don't really drink, we only officially visited for drinks once. We ordered their non-alcoholic mocktails—the passion fruit one on the left was seriously good! Highly recommend it~ I've shared a more detailed introduction to this bar in another post, which you can check out here: 👉🏻 Like Stepping into Lamarck University: JW Marriott Phu Quoc Resort Review

To sum it up, the restaurants at the JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay Resort each have their own incredible, distinct personality. The atmosphere and visual design of every single venue are truly unparalleled. They’ve also done a fantastic job balancing the food options—the menus are distinct, and everything we ate was genuinely delicious! These four restaurants and one bar can easily satisfy the culinary cravings of almost any guest. Throw in the resort's daily shuttle service to the Phu Quoc Night Market (for a fee) and their very own Sunday night Resort Night Market, and it's safe to say their food and beverage planning is spectacular. Cherry personally gave it a huge thumbs up!
