Located near Taoyuan International Airport, the Sheraton Taoyuan Hotel offers complimentary scheduled shuttle services, making it an incredibly convenient choice for travelers catching early morning or late-night flights! (Please note that shuttle schedules may vary; always check official announcements). After staying here personally, Cherry realized that this hotel—which is quite close to other popular Taoyuan attractions—is actually very different from the typical business-only transit hotels we usually imagine! Packed with family-friendly facilities, it's a fantastic spot for families taking a quick getaway to Taoyuan!

The Sheraton Taoyuan is just a 20-minute drive from Taoyuan International Airport, Xpark Aquarium, Gloria Outlets, and the Taoyuan High-Speed Rail (HSR) station. Even better, the hotel provides a complimentary scheduled shuttle service between the hotel, the airport, Xpark, and the HSR station. If you need the shuttle, make sure to book it via email or phone by the day before your check-in. During major events in Taoyuan, the hotel might even run extra shuttles—check their official website to book and learn more.

The Lobby

Photo from official website

The lobby at the Sheraton Taoyuan features a clean, elegant design. Above the central seating area hangs hundreds of stunning pendant lights. Their soft glow reflects beautifully off the polished marble floors, creating a sophisticated and welcoming vibe.

Just off the lobby, you'll spot two incredibly eye-catching classic vintage cars: a Chevrolet and a Morris. Since we visited right around Christmas, the cars were decked out in festive decorations, giving the space a wonderful European holiday feel!

Near the spiral staircase leading to the second floor, we found Christmas trees, snowmen, and little house standees. Even in this small corner, the careful touches made it feel so cozy and cute.

Next to the lobby is U Kitchen, where the buffet breakfast is served. By the time we checked in, it was already closed for the day, but its spacious, high-ceilinged design looked gorgeous at night. The smart use of lighting and reflections made the restaurant feel bright and inviting—we were already looking forward to breakfast the next morning!

Cherry's absolute favorite was this massive, European-style pitched-roof Sheraton gingerbread house right at the restaurant entrance 👇🏻! Not only was the design adorable and detailed, but soft lights actually glowed from within its little windows. The whole thing radiated warm Christmas cheer!

Room Tour: Executive Room

This time, we stayed in an Executive Room on the 9th floor!

The room features a lot of warm wood tones. Crisp white walls paired with light and dark wood finishes, along with coffee-colored curtains, create a beautiful earthy palette that feels instantly relaxing.

The room size is pretty standard but smartly laid out. By the floor-to-ceiling windows, there's a cozy lounging area with a chaise lounge and a small coffee table, plus another table-and-chair set that doubles nicely as a dining or working desk. Super practical!

Since the hotel was officially rebranded as a Sheraton in September 2019, the decor still feels very new. The door handles, light fixtures, mirrors, and wardrobe trims all share a sleek black finish, adding a cohesive and modern touch to the otherwise warm room.

The bathroom uses a semi-open design with sliding doors that you can adjust as needed. Cherry felt the style was quite similar to the Fairfield by Marriott in Taichung—another excellent Marriott property!

When you aren't using the bathroom, leaving the sliding doors open creates a sense of extending space and visual depth, making the room look much larger. When you need privacy, just slide them shut! It’s extremely functional. Even the bathroom mirror is mounted with gaps at the top and bottom—the designer really went all-in on preserving that open, airy feel!

During our stay, the hotel was running an eco-friendly campaign: if you brought all the provided untouched bathroom amenities down to the front desk, they'd reward you with a NT$100 voucher for 7-Eleven! It’s such a great initiative to encourage going green.

The bathroom is compact but fully equipped with a separate walk-in shower and a bathtub. The water pressure from the showerhead is wonderfully strong—perfect if you love a good water-massage shower. If you’ve just come straight from a long flight, this is exactly what you need to wash off the travel fatigue and truly unwind.

The bathroom tiles match the room's warm, earthy vibe, and the toilet is a high-tech Panasonic washlet.

The rest of the room amenities cover all the basics you'd expect: a dedicated spot for your luggage by the entrance, closets, and a mini-bar.

The mini-bar counter features a Nespresso coffee machine. Pull out the drawer, and you’ll find an electric kettle alongside both Chinese and Western tea options: Ten Ren's Green Tea and Twinings English Breakfast Tea (both happen to be Cherry’s absolute favorites 😍!).

Inside the mini-fridge, there was even some apple-flavored sparkling water!

Waiting for us on the small coffee table was a lovely welcome gift: fresh fruit, a small bag of handmade cookies, and a sweet handwritten card.

The closet is stocked with everything you'd normally find in a business hotel: bathrobes, an iron, an ironing board, slippers, and a safe.

From our 9th-floor Executive Room, the view was surprisingly expansive! You can see the Orchard Park Hotel opposite us. Fun fact: before rebranding as a Sheraton in 2019, this hotel was actually an Orchard Park property as well.

Cherry later discovered that besides our Executive Room, the Sheraton Taoyuan also offers Japanese-Style Rooms featuring traditional tatami living areas! It’s like stepping instantly into Japan. These rooms are super spacious with a wonderful resort feel, making them perfect for families vacationing in Taoyuan.

The bathrooms in those suites even have Japanese-style soaking tubs! It's a great way to experience an exotic vibe without leaving the country. We definitely want to try staying in one of those next time!

Executive Club Lounge

Located on the 9th floor, the Executive Club Lounge is accessible to Marriott Bonvoy Platinum Elite members and above during their stay. (Note: It may be temporarily relocated to the first-floor lobby bar depending on current hotel operations; please check official announcements for the latest info).

The lounge has the relaxed, inviting atmosphere of a casual café.

It features a wall of windows that face the hotel's interior "atrium," so the natural light during the day must be fantastic!

Looking down through the glass, you get a clear view of the stunning "Glass Chapel" below—we can only imagine how beautiful weddings there must be!

During opening hours, the lounge provides a steady supply of cookies, snacks, and tea bags.

You can also grab gummies, candied fruits, alcoholic beverages, juices, and soft drinks freely.

Besides the all-day snacks and drinks, the Executive Club Lounge offers two special food service periods:

★ Afternoon Tea: 14:00 – 17:00
★ Happy Hour: 18:00 – 20:00

Because of our schedule, we didn't manage to catch the Afternoon Tea, but we heard they serve a lovely selection of small cakes and pastries.

The Happy Hour, on the other hand, is so generous it easily doubles as dinner!

The food was genuinely delicious. We had originally planned to head out to Gloria Outlets for dinner, but we accidentally ate way too much during Happy Hour! 🤣🤣

Buffet Breakfast: U Kitchen

The buffet breakfast is served at U Kitchen on the 1st floor. Located in the hotel's sunlit atrium, the restaurant gets brilliant natural light. From certain tables, you even get a great view of the eye-catching Glass Chapel in the center of the hotel. The dining environment is incredibly spacious and comfortable!

Photo from official website

The name "U Kitchen" was inspired by the striking U-shaped design above the entrance bar (see the photo below!). The Chinese name, "優廚" (Yōuchú), cleverly plays on the sound of the letter "U" while using the character for "excellent" (優), reflecting the chefs' dedication to bringing an exceptional culinary feast to the guests!

The breakfast spread is fantastic, offering a diverse mix of Chinese, Western, and Japanese dishes. Everything we tried tasted really good.

What impressed us most were some uniquely local dishes you rarely see at hotel breakfasts, like smoked duck (a Yilan specialty) and chilled glass noodle salad!

Overall, the dining environment, the variety, and the taste left a great impression on us. If you stay here, definitely don't skip the breakfast!

U Kitchen also serves lunch and dinner. We didn't get a chance to try them, but the reviews seem great. If you're interested, you can check out discount dining vouchers on KKday!

Hotel Facilities

Swimming Pool

Located on the 4th floor, the pool's operating hours depend on the hotel's monthly announcements. Unfortunately, by the time we wanted to swim in the evening, it was already closed for the day. Looking at the official photos, the pool is topped with a massive transparent dome, so it must be flooded with beautiful natural light during the daytime!

Photo from official website

Fitness Center

The fitness center is decently equipped with treadmills, elliptical machines, stationary bikes, and free weights, though there are only about 2 to 3 of each machine. The most surprising part? It has a ping-pong table—something you rarely see in hotel gyms! It's such a fun, family-friendly addition!!!

Sauna

Also on the 4th floor is the spa area, featuring a sauna, steam room, cold plunge, and whirlpool. Coming back to relax in the sauna after a long day of exploring sounds like absolute heaven! Sadly, we got back too late each night and missed the 9:00 PM closing time. Fingers crossed we get to try it next time!

Wooden Toy Playroom

Photo from official website

Down on the 3rd floor is the Wooden Toy Playroom. Since we don't have kids, we didn't go in ourselves, but just looking at the photos, this place is massive! Covering thousands of square feet, the playroom is divided into nine major themed zones, packed with an incredible variety of wooden playsets. Kids would go absolutely crazy for this! While there is an admission fee, it looks like an absolute paradise for children and is definitely worth checking out if you're traveling as a family!

Cherry feels that the Sheraton Taoyuan is a wonderfully versatile hotel. Our Executive Room felt more business-oriented, perfectly tailored for professionals flying in and out of Taoyuan Airport or travelers needing a comfy place before an early morning flight.

On the flip side, their spacious Japanese-Style Rooms are incredibly resort-like! The hotel's extensive amenities—the pool, sauna, massive children's playroom, and even the family-friendly ping-pong table—make it feel much more like a vacation resort than a typical transit hotel. Given its convenient location near the airport and popular Taoyuan spots, plus the free scheduled shuttles to Xpark, the HSR, and the airport, we highly recommend it for both business travelers and families on a fun getaway!

A quick tip for Marriott Bonvoy members (or those planning to join): Make sure to book your stay directly through the official Marriott website to guarantee your elite benefits and points accumulation. If you book through third-party sites, you'll likely miss out on those valuable membership perks!
