Location

Hamad International Airport features a massive landmark: a giant teddy bear with its head stuck inside a desk lamp. This iconic piece was purchased at a New York auction in 2011 by a member of the Qatari royal family for a cool $6.8 million! Standing 7 meters tall and weighing around 18-20 tons, this bear is always surrounded by crowds—you definitely can't miss it when walking past!

Just looking at the crowd tells you it's the most famous photo spot at Hamad International Airport! Don't forget to snap a quick picture here before heading to the lounge.

To get to the Qatar Airways Al Mourjan Business Lounge, simply face the teddy bear and take the escalator on your left. If you're heading to the Al Safwa First Lounge, you'll want the escalator on your right.
Lounge Access & Eligibility
The lounge is available to Business and First Class passengers flying with Qatar Airways and Oneworld alliance airlines. Naturally, First Class passengers also have access to the Al Safwa First Class Lounge. It's worth noting that Qatar Airways' "Lite" Business Class fare does not include complimentary business class lounge access. Aside from the "Lite" fare, all other Business Class tickets—including those booked with award points—should grant you access to the Al Mourjan Business Lounge! For passengers holding Business Class "Lite" or Economy Class tickets, you can still purchase lounge access directly on their official website.
Lounge Seating Areas

The reception desk at the Al Mourjan Business Lounge is shaped like a giant boat with a striking mirror-like surface. You'll notice this reflective mirror design element seamlessly woven throughout the entire lounge.

As soon as you step inside, you're greeted by a massive, reflective art installation.

Right next to this artwork is a convenient carry-on luggage storage area. We highly recommend dropping off your bulky bags here first so you can relax in the lounge completely hands-free!

The lounge is dedicated to creating a resort-like sanctuary where travelers can truly unwind and recharge before their next flight. In the center of the lounge lies an enormous water feature that immediately makes you feel like you've stumbled upon a peaceful oasis in the desert! What's even cooler is that small jets occasionally shoot water, creating gentle ripples across the surface—it feels tranquil yet full of life. The ceiling features a textured, mirrored material that subtly reflects the ripples below, creating an absolutely mesmerizing atmosphere.
As you turn the corner, a massive, dazzling crystal chandelier catches your eye, illuminating a magnificent spiral staircase. It creates a stunning visual contrast between serene calmness and pure luxury.

Covering a massive 100,000 square feet (large enough to accommodate 1,000 passengers simultaneously!), this colossal lounge offers a variety of seating and relaxation zones tailored to different needs. The seating area next to the reflection pool sits right beside ultra-high floor-to-ceiling windows, offering fantastic views of the airplanes parked outside!

Seeing an entire row of Qatar Airways planes lined up is quite a spectacular sight!

On the same level as the water pool, you'll find plenty of these stylish sapphire-blue seats. Most of them are thoughtfully equipped with USB ports and power outlets right next to them, making it super easy to charge your devices.

Along the edge of the pool, there are cozy seating areas for two.

On the other side of the pool, there's a huge open-plan space.

It's divided into several distinct zones, providing even more seating options.

Nature-inspired branch screens offer a nice touch of extra privacy!

Aside from the open seating, there are also more secluded spaces perfect for a quick nap. The recliners here come with a generously sized side table for your convenience—it just looks incredibly comfortable!

Closer to the entrance, there are also private single-seating pods.

You can easily find these self-service beverage stations scattered throughout different parts of the lounge!

They offer a variety of sodas, still and sparkling water, tea, and coffee. You don't have to walk all the way to the restaurant just to grab a quick drink. We found this to be such a thoughtful design detail!
Lounge Dining & Restaurants

There are actually two restaurants inside the lounge. If you take the gorgeous spiral staircase next to the chandelier upstairs, you'll arrive at the main dining area on the second floor.

The seating area in the restaurant is very spacious, though finding a table during peak hours can still be a bit of a challenge.

Most of the time, the Qatar Airways Al Mourjan Business Lounge is quite empty and serene. However, there are a few particularly busy periods. You might want to keep these in mind when booking your flights:
★ 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM
★ 11:00 PM - 1:00 AM
★ 5:30 AM - 7:30 AM
We happened to visit during the 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM rush, so the family rooms were completely full, and it took us quite a while to find a table in the restaurant. Once we finally found a spot, we had to wait a bit for the staff to clear it. That being said, the turnover rate in the lounge is incredibly fast—one minute it was packed, and ten minutes later, we were the only table left in our section! To be completely honest, though, when it's crowded, you can definitely feel that they are a bit short-staffed. If you have the flexibility, try to avoid these peak hours!

On the food front, the most eye-catching feature is definitely the made-to-order sushi station!

However, when it comes to the actual taste of the sushi, Cherry personally felt there was quite a bit of room for improvement. (Info as of August 2022)

Other food options include various breads and hot dishes.

Fresh salad bar~

Western-style desserts~

Besides Western desserts, the restaurant also serves famous Middle Eastern dates and traditional Arabic sweets!

Among all the food provided in the lounge, Cherry's absolute favorites were the various cold dishes served in small individual bowls! There were many unique dishes we couldn't even name, but almost all of them were refreshing and delicious.

On the ground floor of the lounge, there is another restaurant focusing mainly on light bites. While the food selection is smaller than upstairs, this restaurant has its own seating areas, and one side is designated as a "Quiet Area." Kids are not allowed in this specific zone, making it perfectly peaceful. The Quiet Area also houses the shower facilities!

On the other side of this restaurant, there's a parents' room.

Just past the parents' room is the family seating area. The family spaces are wonderfully spacious, but unfortunately, since we visited during peak hours, they were completely full.

Even though the ground-floor restaurant only serves light food, its proximity to the relaxation zones, showers, and children's playroom means travelers resting nearby can easily grab a bite without having to trek all the way to the main dining room. It's a very practical setup!
Other Facilities

The lounge also features an incredibly spacious business center!

It’s fully equipped with computers, printers, and meeting tables—everything you need for a proper work environment on the go.

There are actually two game rooms in the lounge. One is geared more toward younger kids and is located inside the ground-floor restaurant. The second game room is right inside the business center!

To sum it up, the Qatar Airways Al Mourjan Business Lounge in Doha is incredibly impressive. The sheer spaciousness, the vast array of seating options, and the thoughtful little details designed from a traveler's perspective really stood out to us. We loved the unique aesthetic contrast between tranquility and high-end luxury! It's absolutely a place where you can properly rest, recharge, and comfortably kick off the next leg of your journey.
The only slight downside is the overcrowding during peak hours—both the restaurants and seating areas can make finding a spot tough. However, Qatar Airways recently opened another brand new business class lounge at the Doha airport called The Garden. Spanning 7,390 square meters and accommodating up to 707 passengers, it should go a long way in solving the crowding issue!
